Production time!

HEY HEY, I am back! Whenever editing the music video it took longer then projected. As I was editing I thought the music video was fine but more changes were made. When I showed my team, it was agreed that more changes were needed. All the clips were cut down more so that a few seconds could be for the credits and everything didn't seem rushed. After finalizing the shorten of some the clips, I had to add transitions.  Having the video choppy would not give music video and nothing about this project was rushed. Though using Capcut and not having pro made finding great transitions a bit tricky. The transitions that were free looked a bit choppy and also didn't give music video so for the transitions I used the same one for all. When editing at first I tried to use different but it just didn't go.  Honestly I was nervous that it would have looked worse because of no switch up but overall fine. Since there were actors and music being used then credits were need to be given. At

Hey Hey! When coming down with how to edit, it was to go with the song. The first lyrics of the part we used since we didn't start at the beginning are "Just like the day that I met you." When deciding which video to add in first, I went with the car scene. It was a date kinda vibe showing they just met. Since making the time was tricky, the lyrics should have at least went with the song. Then Giveon says "say that you love me but that will last for never." When filming I decided a fight was needed for editing.  When editing it in even though I had to sped it up it still looked natural. I edited each click to match the lyrics, even when I had to switch the order in the beginning. When decided what was going to be as a cheer up in the video, it was decided on a cake. Due to the heat, the icing of the broken heart melted. I was gonna keep the melted heart to show true heart break but then decided to add an emoji also. With the transitions it was a learning proces

Hey, Hey, welcome back! After recording it was time to piece everything together. The editing app was decided to stick to Capcut. While editing I didn't want to have to learn a new software so Capcut was the best choice. I was already familiar with it so it just made everything simpler.  When deciding on the song we needed one that fit the vibe and when editing I decided to use the semi beginning of the song. The beginning of the song had too much intro while I wanted it straight to the point. I overlapped it a bit though so that it didn't just roughly go into the song without somewhat of an intro. While filming I didn't take into consideration the time limit as I should have. Some of the videos were pretty long in seconds so I had to cut it down. Having to edit some of each clips to 10 seconds or less without getting the main subject out. I also had to cut videos into two and put them together to cut the middle out as it wasn't important. With the video I had to cut i

Film, Film, Film, Production!

Hey, Hey!! So in the last blog, it was explained about how I got our scenes incorporated while this will be more on why I filmed where I did. The relevance and everything. The first place filmed was in a car and then followed by a restaurant. The car allowed us to capture two angles and then was also a great location. It allowed for decorations to be in the back which wasn’t disrupting anyone. The fight scene which was also filmed in the car allowed for expression to be however loud and angry the two actors wanted to be. This was also somewhere that could have had multiple takes as it wasn’t a workplace. The next place I filmed was at a restaurant. This is important because there was no room for mess up. Even though I was the major recorder, when it was the restaurant scene it was important to have another. This ensured that I would be on the safe side if anything. When filming I always made sure to get different angles too. Having different angles ensured  that the music video would

When coming to filming the music video, the vibes wanted were unknown. The music video for heartbreak anniversary was centered around a couple. It highlighted the good and bad times essentially why they needed to break up. Shows how Giveon was truly heartbroken which is what I wanted to incorporate. When filming, it was better decided to do in one area. It would be more convenient since everyone in the group didn't have a car to drive different places.  There were different aspects to the video that was wanted to capture. The first aspect was a couple that looked semi real. Maria and Felipe were the couple used. They are friends so they had friend chemistry which was great. With the first scene, I recorded it sideways which would be perfect for a music video aspect. The shots were wanted to do in one scene or maybe a second one so a lot of space or time wasn't taken up. When filming, if filming a scene in the car, one of us filmed outside and whoever was in the car was filming

What's up, buttercups!!! There are many different aspects when it comes to filming. The scenes being right and relevant to the music video is important and its important to have the sketch to see what will be in the video to fix or alter before shooting each scene. Its a guide into any film and is just necessary. For the scenes there are a total of 12.  Scene 1 The main character is in the car that is decorated from valentines day popping the balloons because of anger.  Scene 2   Then it goes into a flashback scene of when the main lead received the gift on valentines day. The car isn't     decorated and looks at the hoodie that was a gift from the ex. Scene 3 Then it goes into a fight scene . This is when the main lead shows how angry they are and fight with the ex in a public space and throws the hoodie and takes it off. Scene 4 Then it goes into a flashback of a date they had, before the honeymoon stage was over and they were happy. They're walking around, laughing and

Welcome, welcome back!  I have to admit, making a music video is a whole new world for me, and I'm kind of clueless about it. But hey, that's what learning is all about right? So a few days back, me and my awesome team decided to do some homework. We watched a bunch of music videos for this course. And let me be the first to tell you, it was quite entertaining.  We also checked out some music videos in the contemporary R&B genre, which is the vibe of the song we've chosen. These videos are the ones I will be telling you all about.  Now, let me break it down for you: Contemporary R&B is like a musical smoothie that blends rhythm and blues with a dash of pop, a sprinkle of soul, a pinch of funk, a scoop of hip hop, and just a hint of electronic vibes. It's got this chill and soulful groove with some seriously cool vocal arrangements. Now, when it comes to music videos in this genre, they've got their own con

Group picks!!

In my media class I have some friends I know I could never work with. When working in a project where work needs to be done, it cannot just be fun I know I had to pick people that would do their work. I decided to work with people I sit around and one of my friends because I know the work would get done. Im serious about my grades and wouldn't want anything to jeopardize it.  Whenever you make the  decision to work with friends and they don't pitch in and do their part then it will cause problems which is why its better to work with reliable people. The people I sit around show great work ethic and are smart so I knew it would be great working with them. We all offer different things that would help the music video come out great and pass successfully. Im working with Abimbola, Shabrina, and Mariajose and honestly its a four star group.  When coming up with a group it was fairly easy because we agreed on working together quickly. Picking a song wasn't as easy. I wanted to

Giovannia but I go by gio. One thing I am truly passionate about is my fire training. Ever since the summer before 8th grade I realized that college wasn't for me and I made the decision to go the technical route. When I first decided I wanted to go the technical route it was firstly the paramedic way. Helping people is what I'm passionate about and since med school was a no I chose emergency medicine. I became a fire explorer because in order to become a paramedic in south Florida you have to also be a firefighter unless you work in the private sector. I have been a fire explorer for 2 and a half years training so when I make it to fire academy I succeed. Being a woman makes it harder for training like that but I know I can pass.  My life isn't perfect. I am a huge advocate for mental health and sexual assault. It is a huge part of who I am and what I stand for. I don't like people who don't understand mental health. Going through what I have has left me independe
