Production blog; Filming
Welcome back!!!!!
Now as stated in the previous blog some hardships were faced. One that I didn't mention was group disagreements. When in a group sometimes tension can run high and be difficult with working with each other. Now even though filming went ok it could have been better. I stated the scheduling made a lot of things difficult which led to some arguments. Now these arguments led tension that were not hashed out until the day of filming. While filming, I wanted our acting to be beyond surface level. This was impossible with the anger that was fueling the room. To be able to film I had to get everything off of the table. Two members weren't seeing eye to eye and in order to not show it while recording a discussion was prompted. After talking it all out, it was a better place to film.
While filming (part two)
While filming, it was done in my house and I wanted everything perfect. To have a lot of the scenes authentic, I put a movie in the background so in the scenes of watching something, something interesting was on. The filming was set to be natural and causal but still good enough where it wasn't terrible.
When filming, three different locations were used. Mostly the living room with some kitchen and hallway scenes. A movie filmed in the same place wouldn't be as interesting but seeing only 2 minutes is what we could give, we did our best.
When filming I made sure to use different camera angles to show the different perspectives. This allowed either less of a background and more emotion or the opposite to understand what the character in each scene was feeling. The different angles also showed advancements as more space and room to work with and evolving on how to give a production.
Overall, all these factors helped filming especially the emotionally aspect of working with a group. Team work and arguments can make or break a filming process and in this case it made it, it helped make the film raw and great.
See you next time!!
